Augury

son of the local mafia boss. younger brother of Auspice. Has oddly mismatched eyes due to a rare congenital disorder. It does not affect his vision, however it does make people react very differently to him, especially on first meeting, and often treat him oddly, or even assume he is retarded. Having put up with this all his life, on top of the stress of his family standing, has made him incredibly bitter, sour, short-tempered and nasty. The smile he often shows is a cold, icy smile, and usually speaks of anger or violence soon to come. It is partly for this reason that he always carries a cane -- he is liable to lash out with it and inflict pain and humiliation on those that defy him. Oriflamme is his bodyguard and constant companion. His attitude towards Oriflamme changes greatly depending on his mood, and although he relies heavily on the man, he is often prone to taking out his temper on him. However although he is too proud to admit it, he would be lost without Oriflamme by his side. He is in charge of a variety of disreputable businesses under his father's name and tutelage, but his current favourite business is his prostitution ring of teen boys.

Oriflamme

younger brother of Alarum. Augury's devoted bodyguard. Make no mistake -- if you were to encounter these two together, Oriflamme is the one to be more afraid of. He is devoted to his master, and will do anything to protect him, or do anything asked of him, however dirty or evil; and has proven this countless times in the past already. He is the dark, silent shadow at Augury's shoulder. He is incredibly reticent, and always presents a neat, trim, business-like appearance; when he does speak, this austere attitude is reflected in his words. But those who have been foolish enough to believe this politeness represents weakness have quickly regretted it when faced with the barrel end of his gun, or the sharp end of his knives. Although he never speaks about the eyepatch he wears, muttered rumours on the street claim that his eye was damaged irreparibly during a particularly harsh beating from Augury's cane. His lack of vision in one eye does not appear to affect his ability to kill in the slightest, however, and if he holds a grudge against Augury he has never shown it.

Ixxi

Has been in Augury's prostitution ring for the longest, and so is the de facto leader. Is Augury's favourite by virtue of the fact that he knows best how to flatter the mafia son; he always manages to divine what is the right thing to say. Maintains a cute-but-boyish attitude to bring in customers.

Ilfee

part of Augury's prostitution ring. Maintains a shy-but-coquettish attitude that is very popular with a certain crowd.

Aura

part of Augury's prostitution ring. Is popular with a certain type for his shy, nervous look and the way he squirms and tries to get away. However Ixxi maintains that, like the others, this is merely an act to bring in the crowd.

Abbi

the most popular boy in the prostitution ring by virtue of his waif-like look, including his wide, innocent eyes. Is Oriflamme's favourite, ostensibly because he brings in the most money... however it is also true that Oriflamme seems to be gentler towards him than any of the others. As much as Oriflamme is 'gentle', that is.
