Elleran (Ran)
Ran is the head of a demon hunter trio that consists of himself, Mei and Far. Although they are still regular school students, they spend much of their spare time hunting demons instead of studying. Ran feels that this is far more important than schoolwork as they are saving lives and helping make the world a better place. He takes their demon hunting duty very seriously, as not everyone is capable of seeing the demons that stalk the world, and he feels that because he is able to see them, hunting them is something that he simply must do. Mei and Far are less serious about it than he is, and he can sometimes get quite frustrated with them, and take his temper out on them when things go wrong. If he fails at a mission that he has set himself, he is apt to get in quite a funk. Ran is assisted by Impfer and his steed Bunnykins. Ran is the only one who can see the two of them, making them very handy during battles with demons. Impfer and Bunnykins came through a portal that Ran accidentally opened once when trying to send a demon to another dimension. Ran had though he was done for as he could not face both the demon and the two of them at once. However they surprised him when they turned around and helped him vanquish the demon, leaving him very grateful. For reasons of their own, they decided to stick around and give Ran a hand, and have been his constant companions since that time. Although the fact that no-one else can see them makes it difficult to interact with them without looking crazy, Ran is very fond of the both of them and quite possessive of their friendship.

Unmei (Mei)
Mei is a part of a demon hunter trio together with Ran and Far. He first met Ran when trying to escape from a demon that was chasing him. Ran neutralized the demon entirely, and in doing so earned Mei's eternal devotion. Upon realizing that they could both see the demon, Ran suggested they work together. Mei is the unsure, nervous, fluttery type, and demons give him the willies, but his instant adoration for Ran made him agree to the suggestion. He finds demon hunting a daily trial and sometimes wishes that he could just quit entirely, but he wants desperately to live up to Ran's expectations, so he works hard at it. He has some capabilities with magic that he learnt at a young age from his now-deceased grandfather, and with the help of an old magic wand that his grandfather gave him, he can utilize magic in battle. However when he is flustered he often forgets the right words for his spells and this can have quite interesting results -- sometimes good, sometimes resoundingly dreadful. Mei is assisted by his cat, Turtle. Turtle used to be a normal cat but when Mei was about seven he accidentally cast a spell on Turtle that allowed him to talk. The two have been firm friends ever since and are always found together. Turtle spends a lot of time sleeping in Mei's pocket or on his hat brim. He tries to give advice during battle but it is often profoundly unhelpful, and Ran sometimes blames Turtle entirely for the mistakes that Mei makes during a fight.

Illfar (Far)
Far is a part of a demon hunter trio together with Ran and Mei. Like Mei, he first met Ran when on the run from a demon that was harassing him. Unlike Mei, he wasn't scared of the demon, but rather felt like they were playing tag. As such, he was somewhat disappointed when Ran destroyed the demon. However, when he listened to Ran's impassioned speech about the destructive effects demons have on the world, and the need that those who could see them have to take care of the rest of humanity, Far found himself entirely taken up by Ran's cause and agreed at once to help out. As such, like Mei he hunts demons out of adoration for Ran rather than any special desire to rid the world of them. Far could be considered something of a medium, and has the capability to commune with spirits from other worlds (including the world of the dead) and this is probably the reason he can also see demons. He sometimes has trouble understanding what is wholly real, and what is a part of the spirit world, and as such can appear quite flighty, dreamy and out of touch with reality to anyone around him. Because of this confusion, he talks very little to others for fear of being misunderstood, and it is true that he is prone to stating quite far-out things. However Ran and Mei take him just as he is, and this has allowed him to relax some and feel a little more comfortable around them. Far is assisted by his skeletal friend, Ed. Ed looks like a toy plushie to most people, but he is in fact the spirital remains of a lost soul who for reasons unknown seems to wish to help Far. Far first found Ed when he was only five, buried under a bush in the backyard, and has taken care of him and taken him everywhere ever since. When he was young, people wrote off his constant conversing with Ed as him having an 'imaginary friend', and he is now old enough to know to be careful when and where they talk. Ed is also apparently capable of moving a little with some effort, but he mostly prefers to allow Far to carry him around. He offers advice, ideas, and occasionally has been known to be capable of casting simple magic, though this appears to weary him hugely.
