Arsenic

Arsenic could best be described as a brat. He's spoilt, he's short-tempered, and he likes to get his own way. He's been known to throw temper tantrums that could be heard interstate when things don't turn out the way he wants. Some might call him childish, but only where he can't overhear them; his tongue can be spiteful and few want to be on the receiving end of it. He tends to go through weird fads that can last up to several years, whenever the mood strikes him -- he gives himself over to whatever it is fully and completely, almost as if he's trying to find a purpose in his life. His current fad is dressing and looking like a young girl, and not only does he wear the clothes and the hairstyle, but he also drags his beloved teddy bear with him everywhere, no matter how many weird looks he gets for it. He's confident enough in himself not to worry about what people think of him. He can usually be found with Opium and Anodyne, his two best friends, who seem to like him quite well despite his temper and the fact that he can turn his spiteful tongue on them at times. The three of them have a long-term ongoing feud with Aisu, Enki and Usher and putting all six of them in a room together can be dangerous.

Opium

Opium is fairly gentle and laidback, but at the same time he has a stubborn streak to him a mile wide and can be impossible to budge about some things. He finds it easy to joke and laugh about things, but also to listen and be able to talk seriously as well, and so is well-known and respected as being mature and level-headed. He and Anodyne have been friends since kindergarten, and while he doesn't always understand Anodyne's flighty nature, he respects their different personalities and enjoys Anodyne for who he is. He first met Arsenic when they were about nine, and it's probable that the only reason he was able to remain the boy's friend is that if he really doesn't agree with something Arsenic says or does, he won't back down. When his mind's made up about something, he sticks to his guns, and he has withstood Arsenic's hellish temper and viper tongue for the things he thinks are worth standing up for, and in doing so, has earned the boy's respect, which is not an easy thing to do. Although stubborn and fairly together about most things, Opium can be easily influenced about some things, and his dress sense has been subverted by his friends; though he won't go so far as to wear skirts, his hairstyles have gotten more and more feminine, and he's recently taken to carrying around his beloved old stuffed cat from his childhood days.

Anodyne

Anodyne is a bit of a mystery to everyone, even his best friends, Arsenic and Opium. Although the three of them can almost always be found together, Anodyne is more often than not off in his own little world; even his best friends probably couldn't tell you much about him, or know why he hangs out with them. He's drifty and dreamy to a point that aggravates most people, and yet at the same time he always seems to be quite aware of what's going on around him when he needs to be. Apparently he was heard to say in passing that he wears skirts because since boys like to look up girls' skirts, then girls must wish they could look up boys' skirts. He gets along particularly well with Opium and will often be found holding the other boy's hand for reasons unknown to anyone but the two of them. Rumour has it that he has some sort of hold over Arsenic; some sort of secret that only he knows that allows him to keep Arsenic in check when he needs to.
